Dr. Woodland serves as the Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Program Director in OBGYN at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Prior to this, he served as the Acting Chair and Program Director in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital Medical Director of Women and Children's Health Services, a large community practice in Center City, Philadelphia. In addition he has served as the 116th President of the Philadelphia Obstetrical Society and is one of the regional representative to the National Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG).

Dr. Woodland is recognized as an area leader in Women's Health Care by Philadelphia Magazine 2000. Ranked as a "Top Doctor" for the region in gynecologic surgery in 1999 and 2000 and the recipient of the 1995 and 2000 CREOG Faculty Award for excellence in teaching, Dr. Woodland received the 21st and 27th Annual Clarence C. Briscoe Award from Pennsylvania Hospital for excellence in teaching and practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1993 and 1999. Dr. Woodland has provided national and regional leadership for medical education. His clinical interests are in minimally invasive gynecologic treatments. He provides care for women of all ages.
